I Need Help With Ipod Touch Wifi Info?
Friday, August 21st, 2009How Do You Get Online?
Friday, August 21st, 2009I know, this sounds like an insane question (especially since I am obviously online in order to ask this question!) but I’m serious. I had Comcast for internet service a few years ago. Had constant problems. Several new modems and even a new computer later, I switched to Verizon as my phone provider with Earthlink as my ISP. Terrible service again. Earthlink had me stuck in a one year contract. When it was over, switched to FIOS. I could almost NEVER get online. Now I’m with Cavalier. I still after 5 years have no internet serivce. I need the internet for my job (they insist that I connect from home) and even my local community college requires an internet connection.
So why if society mandates that I have online access is it so extrememly hard to get? What can I do to get back at these companies for their pathetic service?
By the way, I am asking this question from my local library’s computer.
Is Dsl Slow Now Days?
Thursday, August 20th, 2009So I have been choosing between cable and DSLs to be my internet ISP. Time warner cable is avaliable at my area and I have read their plans, its 5mbps but I have also read verizon’s DSL, they have 7mbps and their DSL fios service which is 10mbps/20mbps and 50mbps. I am not sure because some people say the distance degrades the speed of DSL. So if I order a DSL 10mbps service, is it going to be better or equal to the cable?
Is 1 Mbps Fast????????????
Thursday, August 20th, 2009I’m trying to convince my father that this is a pretty fast connection speed. He wants something like 10, but i want to show him that 1 is enough and is pretty fast. I want to get the Verizon plan 4 18 bucks a month, but he wants fios and they dont offer it in my area and i am desperate 4 an internet connection

Can I Connect My Xbox 360 Directly To My Wireless Box Thingy?
Thursday, August 20th, 2009OK, so. I just got an Xbox 360, and I’ve been trying to set up Xbox live. First I tried just plugging the ethernet cable into the hole on the wall that it fit to but that didn’t work.
So, now I’ve done some research and it seems that I might need a Microsoft Wireless Adapter to get it to work.
We have a box thingy, apparently its called a Verizon MI424WR Router. It is wireless FiOS or whatever.
My question is, can I just move the box down to where the Xbox is, and then plug the Xbox right into the back of teh box?
Also, which… um… port? hole? connection? idk what its called… should the cable go into? Besides the ones already being used there are some labeled LAN, will they work? and just to reassure my mom, the router will still work if i plug it in in a different part of the house, right? Cuz I found a cable splitter so I can use teh same cable for TV and internet, and theres an ethernet thing right next to it.
Wireless Connection On My Vista Laptop Keeps Reconnecting Every Minute, Any Solutions?
Thursday, August 20th, 2009Heres the deal, yesterday, everything was working perfectly fine on my laptop’s wireless internet. NOW it continually drops my connection, and I know I can’t fix the problem with phone interference because mostly every phone in the house is 2.4 ghz, so I just deal with that, this problem is driving me crazy and its very irritating. We have the verizon actiontec router with our FiOS setup. My laptop is a Sony Vaio VGN-N320E. The wireless connection is internal on the laptop. I restarted the computer and even did a system restore, called tech support, they said there were no network issues, dkajsashkj any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Does Anyone Know If Time Warner Digital Phone Works With Dish Network?
Wednesday, August 19th, 2009Hi. I would like to drop my Verizon phone and Internet and get Time Warner’s phone and internet package. Online, the website says that their phone service will not work with satellite receivers. I had one guy at Time Warner say it won’t work and another say it will. I checked online and found forum where it appears the majority of people were using them together with no problems. Anyone here have experience with this? I am very happy with DishNetwork and do not want to switch to cable. But, I am not happy with verizon’s phone/internet and would really like to switch to the faster cable(fios is not avail where I live). Thanks very much in advance!
Tanstaafl? Tisataaflfdmsedpfi!?
Wednesday, August 19th, 2009No, I haven’t lost my mind.
TANSTAAFL - There ain’t no such thing as a free lunch. It’s a popular phrase from an underground novel. This philosophy is flawed, it should be:
TISATAAFLFDMSEDPFI - There is such a thing as a free lunch, free doesn’t mean someone else didn’t pay for it!
Here’s an example: Verizon was offering a new promotion for its complete FIOS package, TV, internet and phone. The promotion was a free HD TV! It’s free for you, but Verizon is really paying for it. By giving you something free, they get your support.
Apply this philosophy to universal health care, or entitlement programs. I won’t bias your opinions, you decide what’s up.
