Friday, October 16th, 2009We are moving into a new house and trying to figure out which way to go with this… right now our apartment pays for our TV service and we are using DSL which we are getting pretty tired of. I would love FIOS but it still too expensive for us right now.
So which way to go as far as TV service?
Time Warner Cable or DirecTV
We don’t have an HDTV but plan to get one within the next year or so, so we will probably be doing the HD DVR with whichever we get.

Sunday, October 11th, 2009okay we have a high-def tv and its hooked up to fios and all that stuff. so, the question is can we jut get a regular dvd player and will it work with this tv? or do we NEED a special dvd player with blu-ray or does it hav to be made by verizon or something like that? last of all about how much would the cheapest working dvd player cost? thx!
Question About Verizon Online Dsl?
Sunday, October 11th, 2009I just ordered DSL from Verizon today and my service ready date is scheduled for July 28th. I got the free modem and installation kit with it, too.
My question is this: How many filters come in the kit? And are any of these filters for wall-mounted phones? I have several phones in my house and I’m just wondering if I’ll have to purchase any additional filters.
Question About Verizon Dsl Serice And Modem?
Sunday, October 4th, 2009Right now I have verizon DSL that I use on my desktop with the ethernet cable plugged straight into, and I can access it via my laptop wirelessly. It’s just when I download things on my laptop the download speed drops to about 40 kbps, but when I surf the internet its 54 mbps.
On my desktop it doesn’t work at all, I’m thinking its the router and I wanted to know if I could go buy another router not from verizon that would be compatible and let me connect one ethernet cable and access it wirelessly.
I would like to upgrade my verzion plan to the 3MBps/768 kbps so a router that can handle that, right now I have the Westell 3217 (model # I think, not sure).
I’m looking for suggestions of a router, also I’m getting a new imac which has 802.11n as well as the others and would like my new router to be compatible.
Not really looking for anything more than $60 as that what verizon offered for the same unit I already had instead of a free upgrade, so now I want to buy it myself.
Verizon Dsl Actiontec Router Question?
Tuesday, September 29th, 2009I have my DSL with Verizon FIOS and my Actiontec router is not working. I called Verizon, and they told me my router is bad, and I need to replace it. They told me I can buy a router from any computer store. I bought a new Lynksys router and now here is my problem. My old router ( Actiontec) was connected to DSL through a RJ 11 cable. The port on back of the router is RJ 45, but a regular phone cable RJ11 comes from my wall jack with and splitter and connects to the RJ45 port( Ethernet) on back of my Actiontec router. Now in my now Lynksys router, there is RJ 45 jack, but when I connect that regular phone cable from the splitter to it, it doesn’t work. Do I need to buy a different router that has RJ11 instead of RJ45?
Question About Verizon Dsl+ Routers!?
Sunday, September 27th, 2009I have a customer. They had a Verizon DSL modem there. And a Wireles router but only 2 office computers hooked up to it, hard wired, with ethernet. When I gothe router had no lights going, and 1 computer could see the other one. They also could not access internet. I went and got a Lynksys (last one on the shelf). And plugged it in. 2 computers immediatly saw each other. But no internet. I did everything, still no internet
Called Verizon to ask to refresh our signal (this is right, right?) with phone number of office with with account number too. Called Verizon etc. They cannot find the account. they told me and they told the head secretary that the account was real, but in “another city” and that WE did not have internet. They said we did not have DSL. The office has had DSL for years. WHAT IS WITH VERIZON! Am I doing this right? Tomrorrow I go in. I’m going to tell them that there information Anybody ever hear of a mistake like this?
Verizon Fios Tech Question?
Wednesday, September 23rd, 2009The Verizon HD dvr box is not capable of 1080p…only 720p or 1080i. Their tech people say that 1080p is not possible with their equipment, but I have no confidence in the tech I talked to. Is it true for Verizon? Are other providers (i.e. Direct TV, etc.) capable of 1080p?

Tuesday, September 15th, 2009ok i have fios tv and i always listen to the music on the channel hit list. that means i can look at the interesting facts about the artist. so i was listenin to kanye west stronger, and in the interestng facts box, it said, “kanye west is also known as louis vuitonn don” i got so confused! does that mean kanye west is louis vuitton?
