Monday, February 8th, 2010I just got me a router. its a Linksys by cisco. But the router wont work with my DSL box and for the router to work i need to call verizon and tell them to put my DSL box in a Bridge mode??? I asked what a bridge mode was and the woman who was helping me said that it was a mode that would put the DSL box in a mode where i wont be able to use the DSL Box ethernet cord directly to the PC (windows Vista) and will work with the router after.
Does that sound right to You??? and my second Question will be does anyone know if Verizon has 24 hour Technical support and if you also have the number because I cannot find it at all.

I’ve used the router before with comcast, so I know the router is working. And when it’s plugged in, my laptop can find the network, but the internet doesn’t work. Wednesday, December 9th, 2009the router doesn’t have to be verizon.. but u can always get a router from verizon.. but im assuming ur using a differnet one..i think its best that you do get the same stuff from the company so if u run into any problems, they can help you out.. if u have a differnet router u might run into more difficulties.. but hey its up to u..
Make sure that your labtop/PC has a wireless card already built in.. but most these days already have them. so theres no concern there.
