I bought/ own a 50 inch 1080p Panasonic plasma, a Blu Ray player, a Sony Denon receiver, a 5 disc CD changer, a Wii, and use Verizon Fios HD-DVR. The Denon has multiple HDMI inputs and 2 outputs. I believe I should set it all up by connecting the Blu Ray player and the DVR to the receiver using HDMI cables, then connecting the CD changer with digital audio and the Wii with RCA jacks to the receiver as well. Then, I connect the HDMI from the receiver to the plasma tv? Do I need to run RCA jacks from the receiver to the tv for the Wii or will the receiver upconvert the signal to digital and transmit over the HDMI cable? If I set up this way, all inputs for the tv would go through the receiver, so it would always need to be on even when just watching tv? How would I watch tv with the tv speakers only or would it always be the surround sound speakers? Sometimes with Fios tv shows or playing the Wii, I just want the tv sound not surround sound through the receiver. Now, I am getting myself confused again. Help please!
